Trace Elements in Chromian Spinels from Four Siberian Kimberlites

چکیده

We analysed the major, minor and trace elements chemistry of forty-two Cr-spinels from four Siberian kimberlites. They showed a wide range in Mg# (Mg/(Mg + Fe2+); 0.42–0.78) Cr# (Cr/(Cr Al); 0.32–0.92) common trend increasing with decreasing Mg#. The major element classification schemes suggested that there were spinels deriving peridotitic source (Xen) crystallised kimberlitic melts (Chr). Laser-Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry on both groups highest abundance Mn (985–3390 ppm), Ni (531–3162 V (694–2510 ppm) Zn (475–2230 ppm). Testing effectiveness determining for Cr-spinels, we found out directly melt usually higher Mn, Ni, Sc concentrations respect to those origin. In addition, using available partitioning models, correlations between Co, Ga Xen group could be explained by subsolidus equilibration spinel, olivine clinopyroxene at 800–1000 °C, thus supporting this group. Finally, calculated composition possible equilibrium Chr group, selected set partition coefficients. Calculated abundances Cu, Zr comparable kimberlite, while was never close kimberlite composition. This simulation highlighted need new data coefficients Cr-spinel.

Diamond-forming Fluids and Kimberlites: The Trace Element Perspective

Major element studies of fluid inclusions in fibrous and cloudy diamonds reveal that most inclusions trapped high density fluids (HDFs) with a wide range of composition. The compositions fall along two arrays between three end-members: carbonatitic to hydroussilicic and carbonatitic to hydrous-saline. Recent studies of diamonds from Siberia and Kankan (Navon et al., 2008; Weiss et al., 2008) fu...

Selected trace elements evaluation in soil from an urban farming area

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Urban farming makes a substantial influence on the household economy of the urban poor especially in developing countries. Urban soil the hot spot of urban farming is a natural sink for contaminants especially the trace elements derived mainly from anthropogenic activities. This study’s aim was to quantify the concentrations of selected trace elements...

Trace Elements in Clinker –

The trace element content of clinkers (and possibly of cements) can be used for the qualitative identification (i.e. manufacturing factory). Several hundred clinker sorts have been analysed (by replicated quarterly samples, collected from all Hungarian cement factories as well as from factories of 8 foreign countries) to determine their Mg, Sr, Ba, Mn, Ti, Zr, Zn and V content. The first 6 elem...
